오늘의 글감을 생각하다가, 어제 저녁에 올라온 소더비 경매 상품을 떠올렸습니다. 모양이 매우 특이한 브로치라 다들 감탄(..)했거든요. 실물 보시면 아마 왜 감탄했는지 아실 겁니다. 그 브로치를 찾아서 소더비에 들어갔다가 스위스 제네바에서 열릴 예정인 주얼리 경매 예고를 들어갔고, 거기서 또 이런 걸 보았지 뭡니까.
경매 이름은 Iconic Jewels. 강한 확신을 하면서 들어간 이유도 경매 제목 때문입니다. 브로치 형태를 생각하면 절대로 이 경매에 있을 겁니다. 절대로. 왜 그런지는 나중에 보시면 알고요. 상품은 이쪽을 보시면 됩니다. 가격 단위가 CHF로 표기되는 건 경매지가 제네바라서 그렇습니다. 1스위스 프랑은 현재 기준으로 대략 1500원입니다. 계산하기 편하군요. 물론 구입할 때는 1536원 가량이라지만 기준율로 계산하자고요.

앗. 하지만 결론적으로 아니었습니다. 찾다가 못찾고는 이거 아닌 것 같은데 싶어서, 원래의 포스트를 찾아봤고요. 소더비 카르티에라고 기억했던 것과는 달리 불가리였습니다. 역시 기억은 믿으면 안되고 교차 검증을 해야하는군요. 흑흑흑. 불가리를 카르티에라고 기억하는 바람에 검색이 더뎠습니다. 카르티에 상품이 많더라고요... 하여간. 보면서 찾아둔 신기한 물건 몇 가지를 올려봅니다.

그런데, 카르티에라고요? 그것도 사파이어하고 다이아몬드 반지? 이게? 얼핏 보기에는 무슨 스타벅스 블루베리 치즈케이크 같지 않나요.
찾다가 번거롭다면서 해당 주얼리를 마구 찾기 시작했지요. 위에도 적었지만 엉뚱한 브랜드로 착각하는 바람에 다시 원 포스트를 찾는 짓을 벌였지만서도.

1970년대에 나온 루비와 다이아몬드 브로치입니다. 블스에서 사람들이 관심가질만한 디자인이지요. 와아. 낫과 망치의 브로치라니, 이거 달고 다니면 당장에 매카시가 쫓아올 것 같지 않나요. 보석으로 도트 찍어 놓은 느낌이라 나름 귀엽습니다.

날림 해석하자면, 가운데의 망치와 낫은 칼리브레 컷으로 세팅했고, 다이아몬드는 파베 셋과 브릴리언트 컷으로 했답니다.
설명은 그러하고 최종 낙찰가는 57,150CHF. 원래 5만 스위스프랑 정도를 낙찰가로 보았다고 기억하는 터라, 그걸 넘겼군요. 크기는 생각보다는 작습니다. 까지 적고, 낙찰가가 얼마쯤인가 하고 확인해보니 8600만원을 넘깁니다. 허허허허. 크기보다는 상징성일까요. 크기는 귀엽지만 가격은 귀엽지 않다.-ㅁ-a

반 클리프 앤 아펠도 생각난 김에 조금 들여다 보았지만, 이 브로치 최종 낙찰가는 100,800USD입니다. 지금 환율이 1365원이군요. 이 기준으로 1억 3천 700만원을 조금 넘겼으니. 크기는 위의 불가리 브로치보다는 조금 더 큽니다. 대신 화려하기로는 이 카멜리아-동백 클립 브로치가 더하죠. 크기나 보석 생각하면 위의 불가리 가격이 예상보다 조금 높게 나온거 아닐까라고 슬며시 생각해봅니다. 어디까지나 생각이고요.
위의 카멜리아는 여러 버전으로 제작된 모양입니다.
에메랄드 버전은 가격이 조금 더 높았습니다. 107,000USD. 뭐, 이런 가격은 보석의 희소성도 관련이 있을테니까요.
여튼 언제 시간 나면 소더비든 크리스티든 보석 경매 좀 들여다볼까 싶기도 합니다. 아름답지 않은 타임라인을 보니 가끔은 예쁜 걸로 머릿 속을 씻고 싶어지니까요. 하하하. 하여간 위에 올렸던 저 사파이어 반지는 조금 많이 충격이었습니다.-ㅁ-
